Livery

Livery at Cottager's Plot falls into four main categories:

• Full Livery
• Schooling Livery
• Part Livery
• Working Livery

Our dedicated team of staff are all qualified and experienced in looking after horses and their owners! We have horses and ponies of all types on livery with us including veterans, pleasure horses, competition horses and pony club ponies!

Full Livery, as the name suggests, is full food and board for your horse or pony. Our refurbished stables make for a comfortable and peaceful home for all of the animals, and the standards of care are second to none. Includes: all bedding, haylage as required, basic feed, daily grooming, rugs changed, turn out on rota basis, all mucking out and daily care, full use of facilities.

Schooling Livery provides the breaking, backing and schooling of your horse or pony. Our in house riders, Kate Johnson and Sophie Brown, takes care of the horses on schooling livery and is supported by the rest of the team, who all offer skills in different areas of producing horses. Schooling livery can be tailor made to your horses needs. Please don't hesitate to call and speak to Sophie about your specific requirements.

Part Livery includes: bedding up to 1 bale of shavings per week basic feed and haylage as required, turn out and bringing in when required, all mucking out and daily care, full use of facilities.

Working Livery includes all the benefits of part livery, and the horse or pony is used by us on lessons in the riding school. This can be a beneficial arrangement if you are unable to exercise your horse or pony regularly, as we will include them on lessons. A short period of assessment is required to ensure that the horse is suitable for working livery.

Farrier visits every Tuesday. Our regular farrier is Mike Chisolm.
