Cottagers Plot Equestrian Centre is a professional & friendly riding school near Grimsby.
*Please note that the yard is now back open for lessons for persons who can mount and dismount unaided (with verbal guidance from 2 metres). Please see below a few of the current rules and procedures in place when coming for your lesson.
Safety Precautions
- Social distancing is paramount; we are only prepared to re-open to the public if the 2-metre rule is strictly adhered to whilst on-site.
- On entering the site, Please wait in the car park for a staff member to greet you, re-book your next lesson, pay for your lesson and then invite you onto the yard.
- Please limit the time waiting for the lesson to start, if you arrive early please stay in your car. Lessons will start promptly as usual.
- All tack that comes into contact with staff and clients will be disinfected before and after each lesson.
- All visitors must wear gloves and take personal measures to protect themselves e.g. avoid touching their face or any other surface at the site.
- Face coverings will be at the discretion on the individual whilst riding but is advised whilst on-site.
- Handwashing facilities are available on-site and should be used frequently.
- Unfortunately, we cannot allow numerous family members to spectate, ideally the rider may only be accompanied by one parent/adult.
- Helpers will be not be allowed on-site unless they are attending a lesson as all associated teaching clubs will not be running until further notice.
- Staff can now hold the horse and help with strips/girths but we ask that riders turn their face away whilst this is happening.
- Whilst moving around the yard please follow the one way system and reframe from congregation around the yard (especially in walkways) Please use the exit at the far end of the yard (marked in yellow) You should not need to go back to the office as you should of already re-booked however if you do please leave the yard and then come back to the office through the car park; sticking to the one way system

Here at Cottagers Plot Equestrian Centre, we cater for all those wishing to either learn to ride or to improve their existing riding skills. We provide lessons for absolute beginners up to competition level riders in all equestrian disciplines. Riding has been taught here for over twenty years and since March 2007, Sophie Brown and her qualified and dedicated team have taken over the running and development of the business formerly owned by Rose and Graham Louis.
